8 Years Ago Today

I was 19 years old and only a month out of basic training and AIT. I was at Ft. Benning, GA the morning of 9/11. I had been assigned to parachute duty and was folding parachutes and packing them into the packs. As I was doing this with the radio on in the background and I kept hearing little news clips of "a plane flew into a building" and then more songs would play. A little bit later I heard on the radio "plane flew into the Pentagon". I looked and asked the guy next to me, " Are they talking about a new movie coming out?" The guy looked at me with fear in his eyes and said, "No, America is under attack."
